How to root Andy emulator using Andy Rootkit [Android]
Update: If you have the latest Andyroid version (47.x.x), do this instead
Note: As of now, this is the UNOFFICIAL way to root Andy emulator. The developer says that root will come in the near future, and we’ll update you by then with the official method.
- Before starting, download Magisk tarball by clicking here
- Shut Down Andy Emulator
- Expand the size of android_boot_disk.vmdk with VMware Player to at least 16MB.
- Enable ADB Debugging in Andy Options through Andy Launcher
- Boot up Andy emulator
- Transfer the magisk tarball by typing the command adb push magisk.tar.gz /data/local/tmp
- After pushing the magisk tarball, type in adb shell “cd /data/local/tmp; tar -zxf magisk.tar.gz; cd magisk; ./install.sh” include the quotation marks
- Reboot Andy
- Andy should now be rooted!

But the most common problem is that you cannot enjoy admin(root user) feature as a normal user. And so you need to root your emulator to take extra advantages.

Recently, I have made a tutorial on ‘How to root BlueStacks using KingRoot (one click method)‘. And today, I will show you how to root andyroid emulator using Andy rootkit for PC.
How to root Andy emulator using Andy rootkit for PC?
First of all, you need to have the following set ups:
- After downloading, the above two most important files to root your emulator.
- Andy rootkit file shall be in zip format. So you need to unzip the file using winRAR/7zip or any other file compressing tool.
- Now, Launch Andy emulator then minimize it.
- Then Launch Andy rootkit and then a set up box will appear like below
- Now you will have two options i.e root or un-root!
- Then hit on Root.
- That’s it.
How to Verify whether your emulator is rooted or not?
- First of all, download and install Root Checker app from play store or any other App store.
- And then launch the app.
- Now, within the app dashboard, hit ‘verify root‘ and wait until the process gets finished. see below picture
- That’s it.

This Does not work for Version 47.0.x that runs on Nougat 7.1.1. at the moment i cant seem to find anything that can. Geek fellas can help us out . I like the fact that V47 supports ARM architecture. this means more apps that could not run on x86 Versions of android now can.

After using magisk methode. Andy emulator doesn’t start…

Expanding android_boot_disk.vmdk with vmware player:
You can find vmware player in program files in the folder vmware. Then manually add the andy os virtual machine from %appdata%\Roaming\Andy\machines\[virtual machine name]
