Identity Card

Direct LPG & Other Subsidy Transfer

Your Aadhaar number, once linked to your LPG consumer number, can be used to receive LPG subsidy amount directly to your linked bank account. The scheme named as PAHAL allows LPG users to link their bank accounts or Aadhaar numbers to the LPG number to receive benefits in the account.

The Aadhaar card can also be used to enjoy the benefits of various other government subsidies without having to apply individually for them.

With the e-Aadhaar facility, it has become very easy for anyone to apply for a new Aadhaar and track its status online. You need not to go anywhere physically to get one. You can apply online and even download the Aadhaar card online once it is generated.

New Bank Accounts

Fast Passport acquisition

With your Aadhaar card, you can now get a new passport in only 10 days. The new passport application process allows you to skip the police verification step for a later date only if you are providing Aadhaar card as a supporting document. Before this, the passport acquisition process used to take up to 3 months. The government is also planning to make it compulsory to have an Aadhaar number to get a new passport.

Digital Life certificate and Monthly Pension

The Digital Life certificate or Jeevan Praman for Pensioners scheme was started by the Prime Minister of India as a way to avoid the need to be present physically for a pensioner to receive his/her pension. Pensioners can use this certificate to receive their pension directly into their bank accounts through their Aadhaar numbers.

Digital Locker

This scheme was launched by the government of India to provide a secure online way for the Indian citizens to store their important records and documents. A person needs to have 12-digit Aadhaar number to sign-up for a DigiLocker account.
